Cage Guide: Getting New Heroes, Cage Timers & Rarity Odds

As of this writing, the Cage's timer lengths, rarity odds from Common to Mythical, time-part and crystal speed-ups, and the five recovery houses are not documented in any source we could verify, including the Steam store page and Steam Community discussions for Bomb Farm (Steam AppID 4892010). What is confirmed is how heroes are structured once you have them: four roles (Attacker, Support, Collector, Specialist), 20 abilities that each level from 1 to 10, and a three-team rotation that keeps the mine running nonstop. This page covers the verified hero systems, flags every Cage-specific number as unconfirmed, and explains how to check the real values in your own game so you do not plan around invented data.

Cage Timers and Rarity Odds: What Is and Is Not Confirmed

Bomb Farm released on 28 Aug, 2026 from developer and publisher Stream On, and the public material available for it is still thin. The Steam store description covers hero roles, abilities, gear, the skill tree, and Steam Market trading, but it never mentions a Cage, a cage timer, hero rarity tiers, time parts, crystals, or recovery houses. The Steam Community threads we reviewed focus on the Market unlock requirement, VIP Pass issues, and Friend Code sharing, not on hero acquisition.

Because of that gap, we are not publishing timer durations, per-tier drop percentages, or pity rules for the Cage. Any specific figure you see quoted elsewhere for Common through Mythical odds should be treated as unconfirmed until it is backed by an in-game tooltip or an official patch note. This page will be updated once those values can be verified from a primary source.

Hero Roles: How to Judge a New Hero When It Arrives

According to the Steam store page, every hero in Bomb Farm belongs to one of four roles: Attacker, Support, Collector, or Specialist. Each hero comes with unique attributes and abilities. There are 20 abilities in total, and each ability can be upgraded from level 1 to level 10. This is the most reliable framework you have for evaluating any new hero, regardless of how it was obtained.

When a new hero enters your roster, check its role first and then its ability list. A hero whose role fills a hole in one of your three teams is usually worth slotting immediately, while a hero that duplicates a role you already cover well can wait. Since abilities scale from level 1 to 10, a hero's early numbers understate its ceiling, so compare heroes by which abilities they carry rather than by their unupgraded stats alone.

Three Teams: Where New Heroes Go

The Steam store description states that you switch between three teams to keep the mine running nonstop. In practice this means a new hero is not just a roster entry but a candidate for one of three rotation slots, and a hero that is not strong enough for your main team can still carry value in a second or third team that keeps resource collection going while your primary squad is elsewhere.

The claim that five recovery houses feed rested heroes back into rotation does not appear in any source we reviewed, so we cannot confirm how heroes recover between team swaps or whether recovery buildings exist at all. If your game shows a recovery or rest screen, treat what that screen says as authoritative over anything written here.

Duplicates: Confirmed for Gear, Not Yet for Heroes

The store page is explicit about duplicate equipment: you reveal sealed drops, upgrade items from +0 to +15, and collect stars by fusing duplicates while chasing the perfect attribute. That is a clear signal that Bomb Farm is built around fusion as a progression path, and it is the one place where we can say with confidence that duplicates have value rather than being dead weight.

Whether duplicate heroes fuse the same way is not confirmed by any source we checked. Until that is verified, the safe play is to hold duplicate heroes instead of dismissing them, since the gear system shows the developer already uses duplicate fusion for stars. Do not commit to a fuse-versus-keep rule for heroes until you have seen the fusion screen in your own game and know what a hero fusion actually consumes and grants.

Other Verified Systems That Affect Your Roster

Bomb Farm is free to play with in-app purchases, and the store description confirms that you can trade items with other players on the Steam Market. Multiple Steam Community threads discuss the Market unlock requirement, with players asking whether it changed to clearing stage 5-19 Normal after an update and reporting a VIP Pass Market lock bug. These are thread titles only, so treat the 5-19 Normal figure as a single-source detail. The store page speaks of trading items, and we found no confirmation that heroes themselves can be traded.

Community threads also point to a Friend Code system where players exchange codes for free loot. The content of those rewards is not documented in the sources we reviewed, so we cannot say whether they include heroes or Cage speed-up materials. Given that the rewards are free, exchanging codes is a low-risk way to gain resources while the Cage details remain unverified.

How to Verify Cage Data in Your Own Game

Since the Cage numbers are not yet published anywhere we can cite, the fastest way to get accurate values is to read them directly in-game. Open the hero acquisition screen, note the timer shown on each slot, and check whether tapping the rarity or odds icon reveals a percentage table. Games that use rarity tiers commonly display the drop rates behind an info button, and those in-game figures outrank any third-party number.

Record what you see across several pulls, including the timer length before and after using any speed-up item, and compare it with the Steam Community discussion board and any official patch notes from Stream On. If you find values that differ from what is written here, the in-game screen is correct and this page is behind. We will update the rarity, timer, and speed-up sections as soon as the numbers can be confirmed from a primary source.
